TL;DRMy favourite IoT board, the Wemos D1 Mini, only has ONE analog input - this limits me to using just one thermistor at a time. Read further as I look at my options. Why Wemos? The Wemos D1 Mini has WiFi built in, it’s easy to program with the Arduino IDE, it is well supported, and on top of all th

No. Being pulled to GND (for a short time) for hardware reset is what the RST Pin is supposed to be used for. This function can only be used in the condition that esp8266 PIN32 (RST) and PIN8 (XPD_DCDC aka GPIO16) are connected together. Using sleep (0) will set no wake up timer, connect a GPIO to pin RST, the chip will wake up by a falling
1 Answer. To control the WLED firmware over USB, you would use the firmware's ability to be controlled over a serial connection. It looks like you would open the virtual serial port that appears when you plug in the device, at a speed of 115200, and then you take the same JSON that you would POST to /json/state for controlling it over WiFi, and
It's actually super convenient and I'm really happy they added it. Deep sleep on the ESP8266 is kinda clunky and limited (this was remedied with the ESP32, which has some very powerful sleep modes), but this helps at least. All dev board breakouts for the ESP8266 should have a jumper like this but most don't, I have no idea why.
A Wemos D1 Mini which is an ESP8266 microcontroller with WiFi built in. Think of it as a small Arduino with WiFi. It can be purchased as a single board, or as part of
I have a Wemos D1 mini and a (Drotek) Ublox M8N GNSS module. I want to connect these two via the Tx/Rx pins, and using Hardware Serial on the Wemos. I connected the pins accordingly: GPS Wemos Tx -> Rx Rx -> Tx 5V -> 3V3 GND -> GND. The GPS module can be powered with 3.3 to 5V and the logic level on the Tx/Rx pins is 3.3V.
Check the pin map link I provided. It’s for the Mini because WeMos have removed the map for the full WeMos D1 from their site but I believe it’s the same general mapping. WeMos did change at least 1 pin map between the original D1 and rev 2. So to recap, the notes refer to GPIO numbers not WeMos pin labels, use the map.
